WE'RE IN XI'AN
After 29.5 hours from the time we left our home Sunday morning at 7:30 and the time we finally arrived to our apartment at 3:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, we have made it. Oh we are so tired but sleep just wasn't our friend even after we got here. Everything went fairly smoothly though. We were at the airport in plenty of time and it turned out to be the only time we just sat and waited at an airport. At LAX there was no time to spare. In Shanghai, even though we had a 3 hour layover, it took that long to get through all the customs, finding our luggage, going back through security, rechecking our luggage, going through more security and finally finding our way to the gate where we boarded a shuttle that took us to our flight, just in time to take off!! Once we got to Xi'an it took us an hour to find Oliver who was meeting us and taking us to our apartment. Then it was another hour drive on a university bus and another hour to get us checked into our apartment. We were grateful though that everything went fairly smooth and we were able to travel with 4 others that will be teaching with us at XISU.
So super excited for you guys and am looking forward to reading about your adventures. What a cool thing for you guys to do. :)
