Royal Caribbean Cruise to Japan

From Shanghai we went on a 5 day Royal Caribbean Cruise to Japan.  We stopped in Nagasaki for 1 day and 1 day in Okinawa. There were probably 99% Chinese on this cruise which made for a different experience from other cruises we have been on.  I love the Chinese people but as a whole sometimes they are difficult to be around.  They don't seem to have any private space and don't understand other's private space.  They are loud and don't know how to wait their turn.  So the buffet was very crowded and people will just walk in front of you to get the food they want.  Excuse me?  So it was an interesting cruise in that sense.

On another note, it was a fabulous cruise.  We were upgraded to a "gold" level.  They gave us a 2 room suite.  Never had that experience before and probably never will again.  BUT it was really amazing to have lots of room in our state room.  There was lots of closet space, 2 TVs, a sitting area and the balcony could seat up to 6 people, not that we had 6 people to sit out on it with.  Nor was it ever warm enough to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the fresh air and breeze blowing in from the ocean.  Sadness indeed.

We loved Nagasaki as we went to a WWII museum.  It was very solemn and made you understand what happened in that city so many years ago.  It's a sad story and one that definitely changed the world.

We loved the cruise and were so happy that Bruce and Loyann Bennett who are teaching English at another university in Xi'an and are in our branch, were on the cruise with us.  They booked the last minute though and had a very little inside room. We were happy to invite up to ours for casual conversations.  We also took them in with us to our solitary pool and conceire lounge.  We had a great trip.  Here are some pictures.

Now does that look like a bathroom in a cruise ship?  Not in any rooms we've ever had before.

Here's our room-right under the Q on the 13th story.  AWESOME!

A replica of the bomb.  It was huge.
Read this story without crying!

No this is not a real child.  😂

Got a tour of the bridge.  Kim was in seventh heaven.
YES!  We went in the wind tunnel (I-fly).  A little scary, REALLY strong winds but lots of fun.
Beautiful Sunsets.
